Sodoma law announces the creation of the Sodoma Law Foundation. The Foundation will support organizations addressing issues to which the firm is deeply committed: those that improve the well-being of children regionally and nationally, and those that support the charitable endeavors of Mecklenburg County’s legal community. The Sodoma Law Foundation formalizes and expands an ongoing tradition at this leading Family Law practice of significant contributions to these causes. It aggregates the firm’s charitable endeavors, both pro bono work and contributed funds, into areas where they can make the maximum impact.

The first organization to benefit from the Sodoma Law Foundation is the Dreamcatcher Society at Carolinas Healthcare System’s Levine Children’s Hospital, a group devoted to making possible projects that enhance patients’ quality of care. These include transportation systems that make getting around fun, to a state-of-the-art echocardiology lab. Nicole and Ron Sodoma have pledged an annual donation, running through at least 2018, on behalf of the Sodoma Law Foundation.

“We admire Nicole Sodoma and her colleagues at Sodoma Law, who continually demonstrate their dedication to our community, especially for causes that help children,” said Kirstin Ashford, Executive Director, Strategic Relations and Communications at Carolinas HealthCare Foundation. “We are honored to benefit from their generosity and to partner with a group that shares our mission of placing the needs of families first.”

Over the past year alone, Sodoma Law employees have collectively contributed close to $70,000 in time, resources and funding to multiple organizations. A partial list of the initiatives supported includes: the Charlotte Women’s Bar and their “Fighting for Women with Fashion” event, to benefit the Safe Alliance Clyde and Ethel Dickson Domestic Violence Shelter; and donations of funds and time to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, YMCA of Greater Charlotte – Send a Kid to Camp, Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, March of Dimes and the Make-a-Wish Foundation.

“At Sodoma Law, each attorney and staff member believes not only in their ability to make a difference in a client’s life but also their ability to be supportive of a client’s emotional, spiritual and physical well being,” said Nicole Sodoma, attorney and founder of Sodoma Law. “The Sodoma Law Foundation is a reflection of that credo, as we contribute to those organizations helping families face challenges we see each day in our practice.
