“Get busy living or get busy dying.”

That quote from The Shawshank Redemption sticks with me because it’s a reminder that time is short, and how we spend it matters. I carry that mindset into my work as a family law attorney—focused, intentional, and committed to helping clients move forward, even when the path is difficult. Whether someone is facing a custody battle, navigating divorce, or redefining their future, my goal is to be your advocate while guiding you through it.

No two families are the same, and neither are their stories. I was drawn to family law because of this complexity, its emotional depth, and its real-life impact. The work we do impacts people’s lives in meaningful, often immediate ways; Shaping relationships, protecting children, and influencing futures. I don’t take that responsibility lightly.

I discovered my passion for critical thinking in graduate school, and I’ve carried it with me ever since. Whether I’m in the courtroom or sitting across the table in high-stakes negotiations. Because no two families are the same, neither are the solutions they need. I take pride in crafting thoughtful, strategic approaches tailored to each client and the issues that matter most. Family law is complex, emotional, and often unpredictable. But it’s that very unpredictability that drives me, because with each case comes a real opportunity to help someone move forward, restore stability, and find peace where there was once uncertainty.

Before joining Sodoma Law in Greenville, South Carolina, I founded Dustin Davis Law in 2014, where I served clients throughout Upstate South Carolina in criminal defense, family law, and personal injury. Running my own firm taught me invaluable lessons about business—the rewards, the challenges, and everything in between. That experience not only sharpened my legal skills but also gave me a unique perspective when navigating family law cases involving business ownership, complex assets, and high-stakes financial matters.

When I’m not practicing law, I’m probably somewhere on the water with my dog, reminding myself that the best parts of life are often found in the simplest of moments. You just have to show up, do the hard things, and remember what matters.
