Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate

We asked Brittany about the biggest challenge of her previous employment at a chocolate store. “Not eating everything!” was her immediate response. As a chocolate fiend, this was a difficult task at times. “When I was making the candies and decorating specialty caramel apples I would be so hungry that I would want to eat all of it!” She went on to say, “I controlled myself…most of the time….”

While she might have worked around chocolates, Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream is her food of choice, if weight gain was out of the picture. Why this specific food we asked? “It has always been my go-to comfort food and childhood favorite! I could basically eat it out of the carton and enjoy myself,” Brittany said.

Relaxing on Saturday

After a week full of work and errands, what is Brittany’s ideal Saturday morning? “I would probably start with sleeping in. I’m constantly on the move and I never get time to sleep in.”  Besides sleeping in, she loves to get outside and talk with her significant other while walking their dog at the park.

Brittany’s ideal Saturday would be sleeping in, spending a couple of hours at the park, and then finishing it off with a movie at home. “To get a day like this is few and far between, but when I am able to get my relaxing day, I appreciate it more,” said Brittany.

If Law Was Not Part of the Picture

If Brittany had a career outside of the law, she would definitely be working with animals. “If I were not in the legal field, then I would be in some type of animal work. I would either be working in a wildlife preserve or working with marine life,” Brittany stated. Her ideal alternative career path would be a caregiver to abandoned young animals or protected wildlife. I would either be working in a wildlife preserve or working with marine life,” Brittany stated. “Animals have always been part of my life and I have always wanted to do something to help them,” Brittany said. She used to watch the show “Growing Up Babies,” which told the tales of wildlife refuges helping to raise abandoned young. “I always told myself that one day I would do that. Maybe one day I will.”

Favorite Thing About Her Legal Career

Brittany’s natural compassion stems from having two younger sisters. “I love two things about the law: helping people and learning the law,” Brittany stated. A desire to help people is the precise reason why she chose family law. “When I see someone upset, I automatically want to walk over to them, give them a hug, and try and figure out how I can help,” Brittany said.

Not only is Brittany compassionate, she also enjoys working in the legal field. “I know this sounds funny, but being behind the scenes, reviewing documents, and going to the courthouse is just a thrill for me,” she said.. Intrigued by law shows as a child, Brittany’s legal career allows her to see the law in action and to help people. This passion is a driving force and why Brittany is a valued member of the Sodoma Law team!
