Tickets Please!

Teka with Dale EarnhardtBefore becoming a paralegal, she spent more than 9 years working as a ticket account executive at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Her favorite part of the job was getting to meet people from various parts of the country. “It was fun and interesting to see people from all over the world gather in one place to camp and hang out for the events,” she said.

“There is a 3-day event in November where we had at least one person from every state and 7 different countries,” she said and then exclaimed, “That’s pretty awesome!”

A Passion for Racing

What would she do if she had not chosen to be a paralegal? “I would like to do something in NASCAR,” she said. Since her previous career in racing placed her in sales and not next to the track, she shared, “I would like to work on the race team side,” By race team side, she means working with the cars or possibly as a driver! “Of course, it would be even cooler if I could have my own car to race,” she said excitedly.

Spending Time Outdoors

Teka with DaughterWhile some like to spend a day at the spa, or reading their favorite book, for Teka the ideal day off involves doing something outside like fishing. A peaceful day by the water is a rewarding way to spend the day. “Fishing is so relaxing,” she said, “It is nothing but you surrounded by the woods, the calm waters, and hopefully fish!”

But what if the fish don’t bite? “If there are no fish, then that’s no fun,” she answered. Maybe in these desperate times it would be good to have her favorite food around for a picnic! “I would have to say chicken,” she said about what she would eat for life. “It has always been my favorite food and if I had to pick a drink, it would be Sun Drop.”

Giving a Helping Hand

Part of what she enjoys about working in the legal field is getting to learn a little more about the law every day. She also enjoys having the ability to help people in their time of need. “It is nice to be able to help someone make use of the law in a way that benefits their situation,” she said about being a paralegal. Her appreciation for the world around her as well as her love for the law have definitely been helpful to clients and the team at Sodoma Law!
