Dylan Lingerfelt
Attorney
There are few things in the world that bring me more joy than to see lives being changed, and I have the privilege of playing a small part in those moments through this career I chose. I initially pursued the field of law because I was intrigued by the process of adoption, and I wanted to be able to help families grow by welcoming children into their lives in this way. As I explored the possibilities of what I could do as an attorney, I realized that I could also give people hope for their futures through immigration law, which has the power to reunify families and to help people forge new paths for their lives.
I attended Liberty University for my undergraduate degree where I obtained my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a focus in International Business and a Minor in Pre-Law. After graduating in May 2014, I got married 2 weeks later to my beautiful bride, Brittany, who I met during my sophomore year. After the whirlwind of graduation and a wedding, I went straight into law school at Liberty University School of Law in the fall of 2014 and graduated with my Juris Doctorate in May 2017.
After passing the bar exam, I took my first job as an attorney at a local law firm where I worked for over a year to gain some experience before deciding to start my own law firm with a close friend from law school. Managing and owning my own law firm came with many challenges which led to plenty of personal growth, and that is where I obtained a lot of knowledge and skill at practicing adoption law and immigration law with the help of experienced legal mentors. After three years, my law partner became a “trophy husband” to an orthopedic surgeon, and he ultimately ended up following her as she pursued various surgical jobs and fellowships all over the world. At that time in 2022, I chose to step away from running our practice on my own, and I took a job as an Attorney at Colon Law Firm. At this firm I practiced exclusively immigration law, and I was able to refine my skills and intellect through many intense situations and with the support of a dedicated team.
I am now so very excited to be practicing immigration at Sodoma Law Greenville, and I am especially thrilled to have the opportunity to practice adoption law once again. I am eager to use my expertise and experience to help people in any way that I can. I cannot wait to see any new faces that may come through our doorway, and I look forward to helping each one accomplish their goals through a holistic and earnest approach.
