When I was younger, I always knew I would choose a profession focused on helping others. I set my academic sights on the University of South Carolina at Aiken, graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. Following my passion for law and justice, I attended the Charlotte School of Law, earning my Juris Doctor.
Any practicing attorney will tell you that being a great lawyer often means you have an even greater paralegal so while waiting for my law school admissions I served as a family law paralegal. I was able to get a behind-the-scenes glance, if you will, of a family law practice and also able to work one on one with clients preparing their cases for mediation, depositions and other court appearances. After graduating from law school, my journey to obtaining my law license took a winding road that led me through various legal areas of practice to include the insurance industry, with a focus on both property claims as well as third party liability claims. I traveled the country assisting clients in the aftermath of hurricanes, tornadoes, and other natural disasters. Dealing with people at the most difficult time of their lives, when they’ve literally lost everything, prepared me for the rigors of family law practice and allowed me to develop the skills needed to assist clients during the difficult divorce and custody process of family court.
Before joining Sodoma Law York, I practiced estate planning and family law throughout North and South Carolina, with the primary focus of my practice in York County.
My faith is a powerful guiding force in my role as a family law attorney. It instills in me a deep sense of compassion and empathy, approaching each case with a genuine understanding of my client’s needs. Handling the most challenging situations with integrity and patience is my priority.
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife, Elizabeth, and my son, Asher James. I also can be found serving in the children’s ministry at Judah Church. If I have a free evening, I enjoy playing pickle ball with friends and watching “The Office” quoting the show whenever I have the chance.
