Through my gift of compassionate leadership, I help others. – Robin
The advice friend. The mom friend. The mediator. That’s always been me. For as long as I can remember I have been the one that friends and family members have come to when they want to rant, need advice, or just need someone to talk to. I’ve always considered myself to be lucky that people trusted me enough to share their deepest feelings and worries. To me this is the best part about being human—the meaningful connections and relationships we can form with others..
I have always been fascinated by human interaction and psychology. The first day of my AP Psychology class in high school I was hooked. This interest followed me to college where I majored in Marketing and minored in Criminal Justice Administration and Sociology at the University of Georgia. My senior year, I also volunteered as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) where I provided support to children in foster care. This solidified my interest in the area of family law.
This interest continued once I graduated and decided to go to law school. I left my home state of Georgia for the very first time and moved up to Richmond, Virginia where I attended the University of Richmond School of Law. I spent my first summer working with legal aid, as a part of their Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) team, where I was able to provide legal services to indigent domestic violence survivors. That experience further taught me the importance of compassion, empathy, and client-based advocacy. The rest of my time in law school was centered around hands-on work: competing in trial advocacy and moot court competitions, interning with a circuit court judge, and giving back by providing pro bono services to the surrounding community.
Odds are if you are seeking a family law attorney, you and your family are experiencing hardship. I am determined to use all of my experience and education to advocate for and support you through any challenges you may be facing, without judgment and with compassion. I strive to empower you to make informed decisions best suited for you after carefully weighing all of your options. You are in the driver’s seat—my job is merely to help you navigate through the legal system and get you started on your next chapter.
