Late Wednesday afternoon, the US Supreme Court issued a one page order granting a stay of the decision by the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals that VA’s ban on same-sex marriages is unconstitutional.  The 4th Circuit’s decision was set to take effect Thursday morning allowing same-sex marriages to begin in VA.  The Supreme Court’s stay will remain in effect, however, preventing same-sex marriages in VA, until further action by the Court.
